The process of lamination is done to a label to protect it from moisture and tearing. A thin, clear film is applied and compressed onto the label with the use of adhesives. Lamination also helps in making the label aesthetically pleasing.
Varnishing is done on a label to protect the material from sunlight, moisture, chemicals, wear and tear. A heat-cured clear coating of transparent ink is applied on the label in this process. The glaze also gives the label a lustrous look.
A thin foil with the label design is transferred onto the required surface in this method. Hot foil has an embossed appearance while cold foil appears like a second skin on the surface.
Here at Dott, we have a wide range of colours and finishes available to choose from including gold and metallic, which are popular among our clients. Hot/Cold foil can be transferred onto any surface and is a perfect method to make any product look elegant. You can customize which parts (logo, text, etc.) of the label design you want to include in the hot stamp. The metallic sheen of the foils results in an aesthetically pleasing product that will stand out on most shelves.
Embossing is a method where an image, text or pattern is pressed onto a material which gives it a slightly raised appearance on the base material used.
Embossing can be a very cost effective option, especially for low volume orders. It is very easy to detect tampering with embossed labels, which discourages imitation products. It not only adds a premium feel to your product but is also long-lasting. We at Dott, make sure that our embossed labels are available to our customers in the shape, pattern, size and colour they require.
Barcoding is a machine-readable visual representation of data for identifying your products. This visual consists of black parallel lines or bars which are unique to each product. Team Dott recommends barcoding to all our clients because barcoding your products makes them difficult to replicate and easier to validate.
Hologram sticker labels are unique and the visual appears to be that of a 3D image. They are often used for security purposes like authentication of certificates, documents, etc. as they are nearly impossible to replicate. Holograms will secure your products from being replicated. The cherry on top is that they appear modern and futuristic and they will complement your packaging.
In this process, one colour appears to fade into another. This process is done by using fine dots to merge the colours.
This process is usually done to add texture to your product’s labels. It will also add a touch of class to your product. In this process, a stencil is used and is also commonly used to print t-shirts for employees, etc. We are among the few label printers in India, who have a screen printing machine.
We customise and guide our clients on which ink would best suit their requirements based on the level of security, brand protection and aesthetic value that our clients are looking for. Our most popular security and specialty inks include thermo chronic inks, metallic inks, optically variable inks and photochromic inks.
